Our group of 6 recently visited Zhangjiajie and surrounding tourist sites assisted by Chris and his driver.  We had a wonderful time and Chris was very knowledgeable about each of the sites we visited.  He also booked hotels according to our budget and was flexible with our meal preferences and travel plans.  He made sure that all of our needs were met and arranged for us to visit all the sites we requested taking advantage of the weather conditions and our physical abilities in his planning.  He was also very considerate assisting us with guiding our physically impaired friend.  We would highly recommend Chris as a tour guide!

Chris Tan was a wonderful guide!  Due to a change in the train schedule my sister and I went from having 48 hours at the park to only having 28 hours.  Chris helped modify our schedule so we could still see as much as possible.  He took us to more popular sites early in the day when they were less crowded and less popular ones during peak times so we could see as much as possible.  He even arranged our time so that we were facing one of the attractions facing west and got to see it at sunset.  It was so beautiful!  We would have never gotten to see so much without him.  I'm so glad that we contacted him.  Having Chris as a guide made a huge difference!  Thank you, Chris!

Chris was a fantastic tourist guide around the area. He made very good use of our time considering that it was very limited. The weather wasn't very favourable at that week but he was very agile giving us very nice alternatives so we didn't lose any day.
We've to underline the point that he was very professional. He spent the whole time with us, from the hotel at the morning to the dinner time, even being  our interpreter with local people :D. .It was of great help in overcoming the language barrier.
When it was time to have lunch or dinner he advised us nice restaurants. He gave much importance to hygiene and quality of the restaurants . This is important when you go to an unknown country and if you are somewhat squeamish about such things. If you need (and I think at times it can be interesting).
In the other hand, personally he is very friendly and reliable , you can consult any topic that you worry about the trip, even before going there.
In sume, we strongly recommend you this guide. If you go Zhangjiajie or Hunan area, go for sure and take Chris Tan as your guide!

If you need (and I think at times it can be interesting) , he can put at your disposal a car and driver to explore the area more easily to do tours which could be difficult to afford with using public transport.

We organized Chris as our guide for 3 days/3 nights at the beginning of July 2015. We stayed 2 nights in Wulingyuan and 1 night in ZJJ.  We arranged for an airport pick up with Chris and transport to our accommodation at Zhuangzhu Huiguan Boutique Inn. (Great hotel) Chris was on time with a big smile and gave us a great discourse on local culture during our drive to Wulingyuan. This information was particularly helpful when we went to the local show that night.

Chris was ultra flexible in his days with us, giving great advise and taking very good care of us.  When he realised how REALLY unfit I was he made sure that I was never overtaxed physically -wonderful- because I had been worried that I would not be able to handle it.  He did all the organizing of tickets for transport in the parks etc while we "took a break".

His knowledge and enthusiasm for the ZJJ area is impressive.  And he never stops smiling!

Chris took lots and lots of brilliant photos of us with all the good backdrops, he worked my camera/phone far better than I can.

All in all I can't recommend Chris highly enough, I had initially hesitated to use a guide, we usually just wander aimlessly, but due to time restraints did so in this instance.  I am so glad we did and I am so glad it was with Chris.

I went to Zhiangjiajie this year of January21 to 25, 2015. I got the number of Chris Tan from the forum of Trip advisor. I email him & he replied back. Ever since we are in constant communication with Chris via email. He arrange my train ticket from Guangzhou, China to Zhiangjiajie & vice versa. He was very patient in answering all of my questions back then & helped in finalyzing our iterinary for our entire stay in Zhiangjiajie. On our arrival date, he personally pick us up in the train station & went with us to buy some stuff in the supermarket then after lunch went to proceed with our iterinary. He was also the one who arrange to rent the van for us back then. He was punctual &  on-time during the 4 days, he always willing to help & would adjust the food preferences to our liking. He was able to save our time in exploring the area as he already knows which area to visit & the right spot to take pictures. Not to mention, he was keen in photography that is why he usually been our photographer too. he knows which spot or angle to take a good shots in the camera.

we were so happy of his service. Our vacation might not turn out to be the same if not for his help. after the vacation is over, he is now a friend to us. it was because of the relationship that he has built during our stay.
