Tour Description
Pick up from your hotel around 9:00am. First visit Tiananmen Square, the largest public square of this kind in the world. Then move on to Forbidden City which was once home to the emperors for over 500 years in the Ming and Qing dynasties.
After Muslim lunch, visit Niujie, or Ox Street Mosque. The mosque is a blend of Islamic and Chinese cultures. Its exterior shows the Chinese influence while the interior decoration is full of Islamic flavour. It was first built in 996 during the Song Dynasty (960-1279). Later in 1442,the mosque was rebuilt in the Ming Dynasty and expanded in 1696 under the Qing Dynasty.
After visiting the mosque, move on to Temple of Heaven, where dynastic rulers in China used to worship the heaven. After the tour, returned to your hotel in Beijing.
