History: Built in the year 1885-1887 by the retired official Renlansheng , the name derived from a famous aphorism named Zuozhuan by zuoqiuming in Eastern Zhou Dynasty ( 770BC-210BC), “ By loyal to the Emperor when in officialdom , be meditative on the previous faults while retreat from it”. The garden itself is a typical late Qing dynasty architecture. The whole area covers about one fifth acres.
