The University (Wuhan University and others) area offers some smaller and more relaxed places to have a drink. The streets around Ba Yi Lu (武昌八一路, 武汉大学正门口东) are especially good and the Festival Bar is currently popular among Wuhan's foreign students. A similar place is the Sunshine Bar near the Shangri La hotel. The Sunshine Bar is a bit more expensive than the bars around the universities.
Wuhan (Wǔhàn [武汉]) is the capital of Hubei Province (湖北省)....
Wuhan (Wǔhàn [武汉]) is the capital of Hubei Province (湖北省). It lies at the confluence of the Changjiang River (Yangtze River [长江]) and Hanjiang Rivers (汉江) and it consists of three towns: Wuchang (Wǔchāng [武昌]), Hankou (Hànkǒu [汉口]), and Hanyang (Hànyáng [汉阳]) that face each other across the two rivers and are linked by two giant bridges. The name Wuhan comes from the combination of the names of the three districts (Wǔ + Hàn).
East Lake (Dong Hu, 东湖) and the Changjiang (Yangtze River, 长江) are the pearls of Wuhan.
Wuhan also boasts rich cultural relics. Guiyuan Buddhist Temple (Guiyuan Gu Sha, 归元古刹), Heptachord Terrace (Guqin Tai, 古琴台), Yellow Crane Tower (Huang He Lou, 黄鹤楼), and Hubei Provincial Museum (Hubei Sheng Bowuguan, 湖北省博物馆) can tell visitors the splendid history of Wuhan.
Wuhan International Tourist Festival (Wuhan Guoji Lvyou Jie, 武汉国际旅游节) and Plum Blossom Festival (Meihua Jie, 梅展节) are also must-sees if you are lucky enough to come to Wuhan at the right time of year.
From restaurants to noodle-vendors, and pushcarts to hotel restaurants, most Chinese cities offer a greater variety of foods than you could ever imagine. The variety available in Wuhan reflects the city’s location between Shanghai and Chongqing. Famous local dishes include Steamed Wuchang Fish, Mianyang Three Steamed Dishes, Xiaotaoyuan Soup, Wangji (Chicken Soup), Hongshan Vegetable Bolts, Dongpo Pork and many others. Wuhan’s street food also includes “stinky tofu,” which, depending on who you ask, is either one of the most disgusting foods ever created or one of the most delicious and addictive snacks.
One characteristic of Chinese cities is that people love to eat out. However be careful about the hygiene conditions. If you are not so sure about your immune system, don’t eat out often.

The Wudang Mountains (武当山) consist of a small mountain range in the northwestern part of Hubei, China, just south of Shiyan. They are home to a famous complex of Taoist temples and monasteries associated with the god Xuan Wu. The Wudang Mountains are renowned for the practice of Taichi and Taoism as the Taoist counterpart to the Shaolin Monastery, which is affiliated with Chinese Chán Buddhism. For centuries, the mountains of Wudang have been known as an important center of Taoism, especially famous for its Taoist versions of martial arts or Taichi. The first site of worship—the Five Dragons Temple—was constructed at the behest of Emperor Taizong of Tang.Further structures were added during the Song and Yuan dynasties, while the largest complex on the mountain was built during the Ming dynasty (14th–17th centuries) as the Yongle Emperor claimed to enjoy the protection of the god Beidi or Xuan Wu. Temples regularly had to be rebuilt, and not all survived; the oldest extant structures are the Golden Hall and the Ancient Bronze Shrine, made in 1307.[4] Other noted structures include Nanyang Palace (built in 1285–1310 and extended in 1312), the stonewalled Forbidden City at the peak (built in 1419), and the Purple Cloud Temple (built in 1119–26, rebuilt in 1413 and extended in 1803–20). The monasteries such as the Wudang Garden were made a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1994.

"Zombie Lion" activity
It was a lively and bustling scene with loud fire crackers, fireworks
sparkling in the sky, and crowds of people watching the Lion show with
music from drums and gongs. The "Zombie Lion", a local custom that
originated from the Tang dynasty (618-917), is played nightly from 1-2
days before to 1-2 days after the lantern festival. It is a very
mysterious activity of sacrifice. The "roler" [I cannot find this word
in the dictionary. Maybe you can define it in the text.], the person
who takes on the role of the sacrificed, performs the ritual ceremony
at the altar table, where he smells the smoke of the incense and burns
the yellow sign paper. Then he enters a trance and goes into a crazy
state. Despite the chilly winter weather, the "rolers" are usually
naked from the waist up while they dance misty-eyed under the lion's
coat. The "rolers" will visit every family, and the family will set
fireworks and firecrackers to welcome them. Usually it's the header's
home [I am confused. The rolers visit only the header's home or visit
every family's home?]. The "header" is the person who arranges this
activity. The header is selected in turn each year from among the
possible headers of which there are currently 8. This village of 140
households is named Peng jia gang or Peng's family because everyone
here has the surname Peng. We interviewed a 59-year-old roler who
started when he was in his 20s. It is said that this role is not
arranged by the people but by the heavens. But how do people know who
will be a roler? A potential roler is one who is normally a strong
man, but who has trouble eating and sleeping during the New Year
holidays. After playing the lion he will be normal again. It is
claimed that there was a roler who recovered even though the hospital
told his family that his condition was incurable. Although these
stories are based on superstition, the tradition remains year after
year. However, this tradition is slowly disappearing because the
younger generation no longer believe the stories, so they are
unwilling to continue the traditions.
