About this place

There are two Giant Panda Breeding and Research Center in Sichuan,one is Chengdu Giant Panda Breeding and Research Center,the other one is in Bifengxia,120 km south west to Chengdu.

Bifengxia Giant Panda Breeding and Research Center is the biggest one in China. Currently,there are about 120 Giant Pandas in the center,21 of them are new born cubs this year. Unlike the Chengdu city,Bifengxia is quite cool temperature in Summer due to its high altitude, so giant panda can keep active there,as they dislike hit.

The breeding and research center is inside a nature reserve, with very pretty nature,forest and mountain,waterfall,wild lives. If you are lucky enough you may find a Giant Panda in the wild when hiking in the nature reserve.

It Is a set of tourism, scientific research, the breeding of giant pandas as one of the integrated development projects. After completion, in addition to the breeding and research of the national treasure panda, to promote the conservation of giant pandas in the world endangered species conservation, and further expand the number of its population, so that this precious species can survive.

China Giant Panda Protection and Research Center in Ya'an Bifengxia located in Ya'an Bifengxia scenic north, 18 km from Ya'an urban areas, 150 km away from Chengdu, covering 1,074 acres, a total of 22 giant pandas in captivity.

This is an awesome place as you get to see the panda of ages in different enclosures. You need to time your visit as they are most active in the early morning and getting sleepy at lunch time. It's a must do in my opinion, cant leave Chengdu without seeing the cute pandas.

A friendly and experienced local guide in Chengdu.

Tourist can apply for panda volunteer work for 1 day to a few weeks, there you will clean the cage for panda, and feed them with fresh bamboo, carrots, apple, and even special panda cake! You can also taste the cake there!
